As much as i LOVE music, I won’t be watching the grammy’s. It is never okay to hit someone in anger, especially a man hitting a woman. The only way that he will stop being relevant is if the industry can no longer make money off of him. Don’t watch, don’t buy. If they want to essentially tell victims of domestic abuse that they don’t matter and women that they don’t matter as much as a man, why continue to support them and their business? Industry follows money, and as long as they support Chris Brown, they won’t get any of mine.

IF only it were that easy. muahahahahahaha.

So, first post of  2012. I hope everyone had a happy new year and holiday season. I usually do a year in review, but I think that we can collectively agree that 2011 was a shit year. So let’s strike it from the record shall we?

This year I’m going to put what I hope for the new year. Kind of like new year’s resolutions, but those don’t last, so I’m just going to write down goals in a public forum so that hopefully it keeps me accountable. Deal?

Going to make a handy dandy list so it’s easy on the eyes. And….go!

• Drink more water Apparently it’s good for you, easy enough
• Be positive it’s only the 2nd and I’ve already had to catch myself (a bit more of a challenge)
• Get a better job I told my friend working in music is like boxing, you’re going to get knocked down, but it’s up to you if you get back up. I’m on the mat  and the ref is counting (he’s on like 6) I’m taking my sweet time so that I can come up strong and not go back down. 
• Take better care of myself people keep telling me I should and while it’s easier said then done, the hospital was not fun last year, so I’m making my well being a priority.
• Exercise more I actually feel a lot better when I do this and it helps me keep 3 of the last 4 goals.
• Meditate I have to keep it together and sane this year if I’m to accomplish great things
• Read more why is it easier to play my iPod on the train then to pull the book (that i’m always carrying) out of my bag and expand my world view? oh, yeah, to drown out the crazies. Going to make an effort this year.

I think that’s enough commitment for one year. What are some of your goals for the year? 

now that (most of) the holidays are over, can I ask how Lana Del Rey managed to book SNL and she doesn’t have an album out yet? I’m not hating on her, i’m just really, REALLY curious how that happened. She has two singles out with a third leaked, and I have no ill will toward Lana/Lizzie but only a handful of people have seen her play live as she cancelled her last tour. discuss.
